Welcome to the Atlanta Chapter's Website. Harley-Davidson of Atlanta established the Atlanta Chapter on September 19, 1985. We are the oldest H.O.G. Chapter in Georgia. All of the officers hope you will take a look around and enjoy your stop here. Be sure to check out the Calendar. We try to keep a good variety of rides and events to fit into everyone's schedules. If you are a local or just passing through town and have any questions feel free to contact any of the Officers. If you are interested in joining the chapter, we have membership applications available here on the site. We are here to "Ride and Have Fun" and hope you will come out and join us soon. NEW RIDER'S REWARDS PROGRAM
General Manager Harley-Davidson of Atlanta
I want to take a moment to let you all know that Harley-Davidson of Atlanta has launched a Rider's Rewards Program. This program is designed to reward those customers who are most deserving. Consequently, customers who do more business with Harley-Davidson of Atlanta will reap more benefits as a result of the program.
The Rider's Rewards Program will be available to our entire customer base, including our Chapter members. The Rider Rewards Program will be included FREE OF CHARGE as a part of active chapter membership. For non-chapter members there will be a cost to be a member of the Rider Rewards Program. Non-chapter members will have to acquire their Loyalty card for $9.95 annually or $29.95 for a lifetime membership.
The program is a way for Harley-Davidson of Atlanta customers to earn credit toward future purchases. Each time you make a purchase in MotorClothes, Parts and Accessories and the Service department you will earn a percentage back of every dollar spent. Moreover, points will be earned on qualifying merchandise only. Chapter members will also receive points for their participation in Chapter or dealership sanctioned events and functions (e.g., chapter meetings, chapter rides, socials, volunteer time, etc.).
It's time for the officer's midyear report card. I would like to hear back from everyone on how you think we are doing. The first part of this year has been very busy with lots of great events to fill your riding schedule. From all the rides to the Multi Chapter Picnic, on paper it looks like we have covered events for just about everyone. So what do you think? I feel there is always room for improvement, so I am looking for your comments and suggestions. Your input will help keep the chapter presenting new, fresh rides and events to go along with the favorites that you have enjoyed every year. Please contact me at atlhogdirector@gmail.com or 770-367-1386 and tell me what you think. This is your chapter; let me know what you would like to see on the calendar. The second half of the year will start off with the Fireworks in Villa Rica; I hope to see you all out there. This was probably my favorite event last year, not only were the fireworks spectacular but it was the first time my mom had ridden with me on the bike. Every chapter event is full of memories, and I hope you won't miss out on yours. I want to thank all of you for your support and participation, and I am looking forward to an even more exciting second half of 2009.
Celebrate Your Independence with the Atlanta Chapter
This year the chapter will again be in Villa Rica, GA for their 4th Annual Fireworks Display on Friday, July 3. The event will be from 6:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M. at the Villa Rica Civic Center & Sports Complex on Hwy. 61 south of I-20. Simply take exit 24 off of I-20 and head south toward Carrollton. The Vplex will be on your right. A live band will perform from 7pm until the Fireworks Display begins. Face painting, inflatable slides and other activities for the youth are FREE. Limited parking will be available at the park, so get there early. There are several large parking lots in the vicinity. A concession stand will be available at the park for refreshments. Bring your lawn chairs or blanket and enjoy the evening. The chapter will have a spot set up so keep an eye open for us when you get there. If you didn't make it last year you have to mark your calendar, just check out the pictures on PhotoBucket to see how much fun we had. According to Villa Rica's website their feature band will be "Atlanta Rhythm Section.” For information about the event, contact the Vplex at 770-459-7011.

Intersections — What to Look for
You are enjoying a long leisure ride on a beautiful back road, and you approach an intersection where the opposite traffic is supposed to stop. On your right side just ahead, a car is approaching the stop sign. You are sure the car will come to a stop! As you approach this intersection condition, you become aware that the wheels on the car are turning, and the car evidently is not planning to stop.
Beware! If you see the car wheels turning, he is not STOPPING!

Your National H.O.G. Membership is key to your local chapter status. To remain in good standing with the local chapter, you must have an active National H.O.G. membership. As an H.O.G.® member you have access to many great benefits, such as the motorcycle protection experts of Harley-Davidson Insurance. These skilled professionals will work with you to find the coverage that best suits your needs at an affordable price. What's more, they're always willing to make you fully aware of the discounts you might qualify for: Motorcycle Safety Certificate, multi-bike coverage, audible security system in place, and more. Refer to members.hog.com or your H.O.G. Benefits Guide for more information, or call 866-895-4705 (toll free within U.S.) Monday through Saturday 6AM-6PM (PT), Sunday 8AM-5PM (PT), or visit www.h-dinsurance.com.
I am looking to instituting a Greeter program that would welcome members at chapter functions such as our monthly meeting. In particular, greeters will help our new members feel welcomed at chapter functions. Chapter functions can be very intimidating for our new members. If you have interest in serving as a greeter, please email me at atlhogmembership@gmail.com.
See you on the road,

Atlanta Chapter Web Page
Due to a review of our web page by national H.O.G., I have had to do some changing. I will no longer list chapter members’ birthdays on the web page. They will still be in the HOGWASH and on the web page in the HOGWASH Print as Mailed. I had to move the HOGWASH Archives and the HOGWASH Print as Mailed to a password-protected page. You will need a UserId and password to access these pages. I will print the UserId and password in the HOGWASH each month so you will have access to these pages. This is security protection for our members who names and email addresses appear in past and/or current publications. This does not apply to chapter officer/road captains per national H.O.G. This information is for Atlanta Chapter members ONLY and is not to be disseminated to NON-Chapter Members. These changes only apply to the web site. The HOGWASH publication will remain the same.
Keep Email Address Updated!
If you have updated your e-mail address, PLEASE send me your new address. I get several undeliverable e-mail messages each time I send a message updating members on up coming or changed events. Please, keep you e-mail address up to date and stay informed! E-mail me at hog@bellsouth.net. Thanks!!
