MEMBER BENEFIT CHANGE
NEW RIDER'S REWARDS PROGRAM
General Manager Harley-Davidson of Atlanta
I want to take a moment to let you all know that in 2006 Harley-Davidson of Atlanta is launching a Rider's Rewards Program. This program is designed to reward those customers who are most deserving. Consequently, customers who do more business with Harley-Davidson of Atlanta will reap more benefits as a result of the program.
In the past, many have only joined the Atlanta Chapter merely to receive a discount anytime and every time they made a purchase at the dealership. To many, the Chapter is known only as a discount club. This has removed the true purpose and meaning behind what H.O.G. chapters are really about. Harley-Davidson Motor Company and the National Chapter both discourage dealers from having an across the board discount for H.O.G. members for this very reason. In keeping with the factory and National Chapters recommendations, we are amending our store’s discount and rewards programs.
The Rider's Rewards Program will be available to our entire customer base, including our Chapter members. The Rider Rewards Program will be included FREE OF CHARGE as a part of active chapter membership. For non-chapter members there will be a cost to be a member of the Rider Rewards Program. Non-chapter members will have to acquire their Loyalty card for $9.95 annually or $39.95 for a lifetime membership.
The program is a way for Harley-Davidson of Atlanta customers to earn credit toward future purchases. Each time you make a purchase in MotorClothes, Parts and Accessories and the Service department you will earn a percentage back of every dollar spent. Moreover, points will be earned on qualifying merchandise only. Chapter members will also receive points for their participation in Chapter or dealership sanctioned events and functions (e.g., chapter meetings, chapter rides, socials, volunteer time, etc.).
The Rider's Rewards Program will begin in January 2006. We are looking forward to implementing this new program. We are confident you will find this Rider's Reward program to be rewarding to you.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Thoughts from Tom
Okay I feel better! Yep I do. If you remember last month, I talked about how I had let myself
down by not riding enough lately. It seemed like everything else got in the way, and I allowed it
to take up to much time. Well, I cleaned up the bike, had it serviced and began riding it more.
That is when you really feel what you have been missing, once the wind starts blowing in your
face, along with a few bugs, yellow jackets, that sort of thing. But man it felt good. I realized
how much I had missed it.
I turned 50 the other day; feel pretty good about that too. I'm always reading about people who
turn 40 or 50 or some special age, and they decide they will take some special trip on their Harley
to celebrate the milestone. So I guess now I'll need to plan a trip, just so I can say for my 50th, I
rode somewhere special. Truth is I'm not sure where I want to go. I've ridden to many of the
major bike rallies, ridden a good bit of the United States, so I'll have to give it some thought and
see what I can come up with. The other night at the dealership we had a movie night for the
Chapter. We met at the pavilion and watched the movie "Wild Hogs". Most of you have probably
seen it by now. We had the popcorn machine going and had a great time. There were only about
20 of us there, but it was great to relive past experiences with other riders who had also
experienced some of the action that the movie portrayed. Just riding free, no timetable, no cell
phones, PDA's, and laptops to worry about. Just get on that HOG and ride. I‘m looking forward
to it, wherever I go. Saying it is just a special trip because I turned 50 is just another reason to
ride.
This will be my last article for the HOGWASH as your Chapter's Director. In 2000 I began
assisting on rides, then became a Road Captain, Membership Officer, Safety Officer, Assistant
Director, and for the last three years the Director. With Terri's involvement with the Chapter for
the past six years as Road Captain, Membership Officer, Activities Officer, and Assistant
Director along with putting together the power point presentations we have been pulling a lot of
double duty. We have had fun and enjoyed it but now it's time for a change. Your new Chapter
Officers for 2008 will be Chris Robey-Director, Bobby Conway-Assistant Director, Michelle
Conway will continue as Membership Officer and Rene Durham will continue as Secretary and
Treasurer. In a future issue Chris will identify the rest of the board. I want to Thank You for your
membership, I especially want to Thank those of you who have been active in the Chapter and
participated in the many events over the years and have helped us out.
Chris and Bobby are on fire for this Chapter. They have an enthusiasm, energy and excitement
about where this Chapter can go that can be contagious. I hope you will come out and support
them, lend a hand and volunteer, get involved. You will find that you can enjoy your membership
a lot more, the more you do. You can make it better, you can make a difference.
Once again, Thank You for everything. Now go Ride and Have Fun,

HEAD ROAD CAPTAIN'S REPORT
A Word from Chris
October's Road Captain of the month is Erik Grandowski. Not only did Erik lead a lot of rides
this year, he has also done a tremendous job in promoting the chapter.
All I can say is WOW! This year has been a blur. I feel like I missed most of it. I guess time does
fly when you're having fun. It has been a busy year for a lot of us, and it seems that a lot of us
haven't got to ride nowhere near what we wanted to. The heat didn't help on a bit, it's really hard
for even the most diehard of us to mount up at 8 o'clock in the morning when it is above 90
degrees and the sweat is pouring off of you just from throwing your leg over the seat. Looking
back I believe this was a good year for the chapter. We had a lot of rides, and I believe there was
a good variety for everyone. If you didn't get out and ride with the chapter this year, WHY? Did
you not have the time? Were there no rides that appealed to you?
Are you new to the chapter and didn't come out because you don't know anyone? Whatever the
reason, I hope you are planning to spend some time with your HOG family next year. I am sure
that next year will be as good as this year. The more of you that come out for a ride, participate in
an event, or even volunteer to help the chapter at an event the better the year will be.
YOU are the chapter, and if you're not out participating with the chapter then the chapter is not
complete. Every member matters and I hope to see every one of you at the Christmas Party this
month and out riding with us soon. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New
Year.
See you on the next Ride,
Chris Robey

SHARE House Toy Ride
This year's toy ride will be on Saturday, December 15, 2007. We will meet at the dealership at 12
Noon and leave at 12:30 PM. We will be delivering the wrapped packages for the Angels that
were adopted. We will have Santa joining us on the ride – he is always a huge hit with the kids!
Christmas Social
The chapter Christmas Social will be Friday, December 7, 2007 at 7:00 pm at the dealership.
This party is for members only and they are allowed to bring one guest. Food and drinks will be
provided. Please bring an UNWRAPPED gift to the party and receive a discount on purchases
(excluding motorcycles). These gifts will be used by Santa on the SHARE House Toy Ride as
well as being used for any new families that arrived after our Angels were adopted.
Angel Wreath
An Angel Wreath will be on the outside of Rene's door at the dealership. Angels will have the
name and age of a child from the SHARE House that needs adopting this Christmas. There will
be a notebook with a form for each child that has their sizes along with a wish list to give you
ideas and suggestions for gifts. Please bring the gifts to the Christmas Social on Friday,
December 7, 2007.

WEB MASTER'S REPORT
Atlanta Chapter Web Page
Due to a review of our web page by national H.O.G., I have had to do some changing. I will no longer list chapter members’ birthdays on the web page. They will still be in the HOGWASH and on the web page in the HOGWASH Print as Mailed. I had to move the HOGWASH Archives and the HOGWASH Print as Mailed to a password-protected page. You will need a UserId and password to access these pages. I will print the UserId and password in the HOGWASH each month so you will have access to these pages. This is security protection for our members who names and email addresses appear in past and/or current publications. This does not apply to chapter officer/road captains per national H.O.G. This information is for Atlanta Chapter members ONLY and is not to be disseminated to NON-Chapter Members. These changes only apply to the web site. The HOGWASH publication will remain the same.
Keep Email Address Updated!
If you have updated your e-mail address, PLEASE send me your new address. I get several undeliverable e-mail messages each time I send a message updating members on up coming or changed events. Please, keep you e-mail address up to date and stay informed! E-mail me at hog@bellsouth.net. Thanks!!

ICE Your Cell Phone
Paramedics will turn to a victim’s cell phone for clues to that person’s identity. You can make their job much easier with a simple idea they are trying to get everyone to adopt: I.C.E. ICE
stands for In Case of Emergency. You can save emergency responders time and have your loved
ones contacted quickly if you add an entry in the contacts list in your cell phone. Under ICE, list
the name and phone number of the person that emergency services should call on your behalf.
Paramedics know what ICE means and they look for it immediately.
Pig Ride Legend
One pig - steady cruising rides of relatively short distance, easy on the throttle, few curves, etc.
Two pigs - a bit longer or have some curves but nothing too challenging.
Three pigs - the ride should be of moderate difficulty.
Four and five pigs - rides with a high number of curves, long distance, saddle time, road conditions, speed, and weather.

ROAD TRIP RECAP
Suches Ride Recap
The weather was beautiful, the leaves were colorful, and we had 16 bikes and 17 people. I would
like to personally thank Andy Andreson for riding sweep for me. We had a great ride up to Blue
Ridge and then down the windy GA 60 into Suches. We had a wonderful lunch and fellowship.
We also got to see folks riding small 50cc bikes from Two Wheels Only Resort around the
Suches circle. Thanks to everyone for coming out. Look forward to riding with you all again.
